The Igelsta CHP Plant significantly reduces local carbon emissions by approximately 75,000 tons annually—equivalent to the emissions from 25,000 cars. The plant generates both electricity and district heating by efficiently utilizing recycled wood waste and forest residues. With a 50 meter-high main boiler and a 373 tonne turbine, the facility processes over 600,000 tonnes of biofuel each year. The visit will also showcase Stockholm Exergi's Bio-power plant where heat and electricity are produced from solid biofuels, woodchips derived from branches, tops, and bark from the forestry and sawmill industries.
